What to include in a calculation question

A small, reproducible example makes a problem easier to check. Note the following without sending unnecessary customer information:

  • The calculator page and measurement system you selected.
  • The input values, including units, exclusions and allowance.
  • The displayed result and the result you expected.
  • The product coverage or specification relevant to the difference.

Common checks before you send

Confirm that a rate per square metre is paired with square metres, and that a pack coverage value describes a whole pack. In decimal feet, 10 ft 6 in is 10.5 ft. The tools use US gallons, and whole material units round upward.

For quotation questions, check whether your prices already include tax and whether the displayed calculation order matches your intended pricing. See the quotation guide for a document review checklist.
